Inline Editing in List View for LMS Modules

In our LMS modules, we often rely on Excel lists because a crucial feature is missing. We wish to directly change and save individual fields in the list view with a left-click, such as in the 'Tasks' module. It would be ideal to have an 'edit mode' in the list view to select and save different values directly. Additionally, it would be beneficial to preset which fields can be changed in 'edit mode' through the Forms Setup.

We understand the wish to enable editing directly within the list.
However, from our perspective this is not something we plan to pursue in the near future. There are several reasons for this decision, such as potential performance issues with large lists (since more elements per cell would be required), the need to support various editors (date fields, rich text, multiple selection lists, etc.), as well as challenges around permissions, validation, and deciding when changes should be saved (per cell or per row).
Editing one or more rows on the right-hand side is almost as efficient as editing directly in the list, though it does require a bit of adjustment.
For these reasons, we will not be moving forward with this feature at this time.
